Most people are waiting for The Avengers to come out later this year. I can say I am one of those that are waiting patiently to see The Avengers. Now, The Avengers may be on the top of my list but the number one movie that beats them all has to be Skyfall. For anyone that hasn’t heard of Skyfall. Well its the newest addition to the famous 007 movies. Oh, yeah! The famous Bond… James Bond! Kick ass action scenes, beautiful girls, and the most gorgeous cars. Aston Martin anyone? After many delays Daniel Craig is back to kick some ass and well make me want to hit the gym.

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time.  In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her.  As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Now, there isn’t anymore information that I know about the movie. The whole things is pretty much a top secret set. They don’t want people to find out much more then the basics. The most we know is that the movie don’t premiere November 07, 2012. Clever huh, 007 coming out on November 7th.

To kick start the entertainment section. We will be featuring our pick for must see movie of the week. This week it is the comedy, “The Five-Year Engagement.” The Five-Year Engagement is a comedy that charts the ups and downs of an engaged couple’s relationship. We all go through the ups and downs of a relationship. This movie is a perfect reminder of those downers suck. Wouldn’t it be nice if relationships were perfect and no headaches. I pay anything for that.  Now, back to the movie.

It stars Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Chris Pratt, and Alison Brie.  Must we remind you who Alison Brie is?

Your welcome for that. Now, why do we recommend this movie? Well, look above. Just kidding. I been a big fan of Jason Segel since the start of How I Met Your Mother. He tends to have an adult humor to his movies and he actually makes you laugh. Then there is times when he makes you want to look away. Remember, Forgetting Sarah Marshell? The full frontal nudity. Yeah, I’ll pass. Now, putting those moments aside I think it should be a funny and romantic movie so its perfect for anyone going out on a date.

Well it isn’t Nikon’s top of the line camera but cameras like these are what most consumer buy. To be honest, this type of camera help start this website. Not, all the photographers that worked for this site could afford D3/d4′s  or the 1d Mk ?. They couldn’t really even afford to get into the mid range cameras so they opted to shoot with cameras like these till they could move up.

The D3200 is a great camera for anyone looking to get into photography. Also, the d3200 is a great camera to upgrade is your camera is due for an upgrade. With 24 mp, you have all the resolution you will ever need. For our website 6mp is a perfect size for images but if you like to make large prints you will be very happy. No more fuzzy prints. Now, I can’t promise fuzzy or blurry photos but very sharp prints. With the added 1080p video and 4 fps. This camera is a great camera for people looking to get into sports or just for every day use.

Engadet.com have managed to get their hands on the newly announced Canon Cinema 1D C at NAB in Las Vegas. Do we really need to say more. Alright, how about we just give you the specs and then you can see whats all the talk about. That’s if you don’t already know.

Even while on the road, the Lakers, seem to be keeping their act together. This time they didn’t have to go far. They played the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, Ca. Andrew Bynum had 31 points and nine rebounds, Pau Gasol finished with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists which put the Lakers at a 17 point lead by the second quarter.

The Lakers got no help from Kobe again for the 7th game in a row. He is out because of a bruised left shin. Prior to the game Kobe was doing drills and practicing. We hope to see Kobe get better before the playoffs start. We have faith in the Lakers with out Kobe but it sure would help to have him back on the court.

This new camera was just announced at NAB 2012 with a release date coming this summer. The product on my want list is the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera.

Here are some of the specs:

• Sensor size: 16.64 mm x 14.04 mm (significantly smaller than DLSR sensors)

All that for just under 3k. That is amazing for a small camera that is sub 5k to have. Its small, portable, all-in-one, cine camera that is easy to use. Also, to top it off you can capture 2.5k over thunderbolt. It had me at under 3k.

We are very sorry for the downtime the past couple of days. We have done our best to limit it, by working at night, but after a few sleepless nights we are very happy to announce. Drum roll please!….. We are on brand new servers. Wow, big deal? I know we are more excited about it then you guys are. Since we started SoCalZine we have been on the same couple of servers. For anyone that knows how fast technology moves having the same server for 5 years makes it a dinosaur. On our old servers a update for the site would take between 4-5 mins and might fail. Our new server is 1-2 mins max. Current, upgrades have been made in 4-5 seconds.  To us that is a blessing. The reason we can now update and upload faster is because the new server have SSD hard drives that store all the content. Yes, we know that is alot of money spent on SSD’s. Well, we think it was worth it.

We will be getting back to posting shortly. We have some minor bugs to fix. You should be seeing alot of new content from all our new editors and photographers soon. Also, remember SoCalZine Tv? A new survey suggests that most hybrid owners will go back to gas-only vehicles. “While the selection of hybrid models in the U.S. has more than doubled since 2007, only 35% of hybrid vehicle owners choose to purchase a hybrid again,” says automotive research firm Polk.

Ouch, no one ever saw that coming! I hope you know that is me being sarcastic. I know why people are not buying hybrids again. Look at them. Most of them look like a blob, don’t have that much better fuel economy then a non-hybrid, are worse for the planet then non-hybrids(i.e. batteries), and they cost more then most non-hybrids.

Lets that the 2012 Ford Focus SVT package which is rumored to do 40mpg highway. The car features a 2.0-liter direct-injected, dual overhead-cam four-cylinder with variable valve timing, developing an estimated 155 horsepower and 145 ft-lbs of torque. An “EcoBoost” turbocharged four is likely to be offered at a later date. To top it all off the base price is under 17,050 dollars. The Prius C starts off at about 20,000 dollars.

So people are amazed at why consumers don’t buy another hybrid. Think about it. The average new car can do pretty close to the same fuel mileage but cost less then a hybrid. Also, look at styling. The focus looks much better then the Prius. Look at the images above and see for yourself.

Now, there is still hope for hybrids. My thought is rather then using a gasoline engine use a diesel engine. Then you will be pushing some nice mpgs.

I havn’t been having the best week ever but doing my daily web browser for news and cool things I stumbled upon this video of a Koenigesegg Agrea R hitting 250mph at the Nurburgring. It’s impressive because the last video that I watched at the Nurburgring was a car flip over at the Nurburgring. The video isn’t the most amazing video and the part that shows the Agera at 250mph is just a few seconds but the noise of the exotics make up for that.

Click on the video bit and you’ll see a standard Agera R pounding down the 3.5 kilometer Döttinger Höhe straight hitting 401.6 km/h (250mph in TopGear maths) before having to brake for the bridge at Tiergarten.
